Soaring vocals over quirky acoustic guitar-driven songs, with shifting flavours of pop, soul and funk. Songs for savouring and songs for shameless dancing. Simple melodies which take unexpected turns. That is the musical space that David Caswell creates and enjoys.

David honed his craft in the 2010s playing at pubs, clubs and festivals in the UK as singer and rhythm guitarist with acoustic soul covers band The Mysteries. Surprising audiences with unusual stripped-down arrangement of pop and soul classics. 2023 saw him sharing his solo musical creations with the release of his E.P. ‘The Skin I’m In’ – the first public scratching of his original songs itch. The E.P. includes the stripped-down ballad title track, an atmospheric audience favourite, and 80s tinged pop song ‘Tonight’ with its layered synths and harmonies.

David was back in 2024 playing live full band versions of his solo material as 'David Caswell & The Moonseeds’, joined by Mark Cusack (from The Mysteries) on drums, Paul Jacques (from VSC) on fretless bass and Hannah Bates on saxophone. Mark, Paul and Hannah’s arrival added a new sense of groove and rhythmic detail to the songs which you can hear in the 2024 singles ‘Meet Me On The Other Side’, ‘Bring On The Storm’, 'Whole-Hearted' and '20 Minutes'. There is more on its way in 2025 with an E.P. of new material in the works with producer Simon van Blerk for release later in the year. The beat goes on.
